The municipalities of Ischia: Casamicciola Terme

Casamicciola is the second most important port on the island, also a popular place for private boats and yachts to dock.  For many years Casamicciola was the first centre for thermal cures, for this reason it is the only town to be called “Terme”.  All this began 150 years ago when the first establishment, like “Manzi” attracted thousands of tourists from all over Europe. It is said that even Garibaldi, Italy’s greatest general, after contributing to the unification of Italy, took time out to reside at Casamicciola to relax and rest.  Casamicciola has a surface area of about 6 sq km and a population of 7.500 inhabitants, and is the fourth biggest town on the island.
