The Antoniana’s Library

The Library one of the largest and oldest of the island of Ischia is located in the town of Ischia Porto exactly next to the church of Sant’Antonio on the seafront of the Mandra beach. The library was founded by Monsignor Onofrio Buonocore in 1956, author of numerous publications on the island of Ischia and boasts more than 24,000 original volumes some unique pieces dating back to 1600 onwards in various languages.

How to reach the Library

The library is located in the town of Ischia Porto just 2 km from the port with Ischia Bridge. It is easily reachable by bus or by car along the main road that surrounds the island. For those who prefer to move around by car, nearby parking lots can be found. By bus, the bus stop is at the entrance of the bridge that leads to the castle and the route is covered by the Ischia Porto / Ischia Ponte lines.

Date and opening hours

From 14/04 to 15/10 2018 from Monday to Saturday from 09.30 to 12.30 and from 16.00 to 19.00
